  • A pair of Kings of New York 👑

  • A comeback player of the year candidate 💣

  • Some loaded up young guns 🔫

  • The NFL’s latest fantasy news 🚨

Garrett Wilson (NYJ), ADP 18.7, WR10:

When Joe Flacco or Mike White started at QB last season, Wilson was WR8 in fantasy points per game. Now he gets to play with Aaron Rodgers.

Even over the course of the year he showed good raw stats:

  • 6th in total targets (147)

  • 11th in raw air yards (1,575)

  • 6th in unrealized air yards (837)

It seems to say that with a bit more QB consistency, he’s ready to take off (get it, cause he’s a Jet?)

I also think he’s in line for more scoring, as he scored just 4 TDs on 19 RZ targets, which was 9th-most in the league.

There’s actually elite potential here.

Sam LaPorta (DET), ADP 152.5, TE17:

The Lions were a fantasy boon in ‘22, and they throw a LOT, owing to a leaky defense, and some high skill on their own side.

Jared Goff was 6th in total pass attempts, and will start the first 6 games of the year without Jameson Williams.

LaPorta is young, but the Lions had no viable pass-catching options at the position last season once T.J. Hockenson got traded to the Vikings. This kid was brought in to change that.

Last year at Iowa he gained 656 yards on a 27% target share, so you know he can handle the load.

Ultimately there’s a chance LaPorta breaks the mold of rookie TEs in a high-powered Lion attack.

Deshaun Watson (CLE), ADP 80, QB9:

Watson hasn’t played a full season of football since the pandemic season of 2020, but he has

First of all, the rushing ability provides an intriguing floor:

  • 10th in carries per game (6)

  • 11th in rush yards per game (29.2)

And an approximation of his 2020 self would be huge:

  • 1st in yards per attempt (8.9)

  • 5th deep ball completion % (50.8)

  • 7th under pressure accuracy rating (6.7)

The skill position players look good, highlighted by Amari Cooper, David Njoku, and newcomer Elijah Moore, who the coaching staff seems to be excited about.

Watson is listed on PrizePicks for 28.5 Pass+Rush TDs.

Breece Hall (NYJ), ADP 38.1, RB13:

I’m a little nervous about the start of the season with Breece recovering from injury and the Jets signing of Dalvin Cook.

However, the talent has always been there:

  • 1st in juke rate (50.5%)

  • 1st in yards per touch (6.9)

  • 2nd in breakaway run rate (11.3%)

  • 3rd in yards created per touch (4.32)

Breece was also 2nd in the league in air yard percentage behind Christian McCaffrey (per Fantasy Life). Pretty good company.

As long as the recovery goes well, look for him to be killing in next to Aaron Rodgers in that Jet offense by midseason.

Drake London (ATL), ADP 61.9, WR23:

London showed incredible promise as a rookie:

  • 18th in RZ targets (15)

  • 5th in target share (29.4%)

  • 11th in yards per route run (2.40)

  • 20th in unrealized air yards (640)

He was also 9th in the league in percentage of targets inside the 10 yard line, with 32% (Fantasy Life).

But a lot of that explosion came when Desmond Ridder took over at QB. In the last 4 games of the season, London was WR18. This, even though he did not score a TD over that span.

With the offense adding Bijan Robinson in the draft, Kyle Pitts returning to health, a good O-line, and development from Ridder, London is looking like a solid WR2.

Rashod Bateman (BAL), ADP 127, WR52:

Bateman hasn’t been able to stay on the field thus far in his career but with an expected bump in pace and passing with Todd Monken at OC, this could finally be the breakout year.

His first 3 games before his foot started acting up looked solid:

  • 8 grabs

  • 226 yards

  • 2 touchdowns

And Lamar Jackson has given him his full vote of confidence as the WR1 in the Ravens’ attack.

It depends on health, but I’m liking the potential.

Cam Akers (LAR), ADP 67.8, RB20:

Akers got hot at the end of the season, starting in Week 14 when the Rams started feeding him like a bell cow.

In his final 3 games:

  • Routes went from 5 to 15 per game

  • Carries went from 10.4 to 21 per game

Those Weeks went well, as he was the best fantasy RB in the league in Week 16. In fact, he was the leading rusher over the last 6 games of the year.

He’s also on the final year of his contract, which could motivate the team to use him and Akers himself to play hard.

Despite the lack of passing game work (18 targets in ‘22), Akers is a value at this point and has the upside to produce.
